Chef Central/Paramus kids cooking school?

I'd like to send my fourteen year old for the 'Intro' kids cooking class. Anyone here done that for their child? Thoughts?

God yes, you've seen the commercials during Top Chef for this store. The still shots of their wares just makes your mouth water. I've been there, so I know. They have adult classes as well and all the students in the class have a opportunity to work on their stove !

I highly recommend the teen cooking classes at Chef Central in Paramus. My daughter did it for 3 or 4 summers, plus took many of the teen sessions during the school year. Jim, who runs the program is a CIA grad, and does not teach the kids like babies, but as young adults. They really learn to cook, and make some teriffic food. One summer my daughter learned to make stuffed shrimp. The kids have a great time, and make some great new friends who share their interests. it may be expensive, but well worth it. The tuition also includes a tool kit which the kids get to keep at the end of the week/

Chef Jim is also very well know for his chili! And yes, he is a very nice guy.

I know the store up in Hartsdale very well and yes it is a nice way to get your kids into the kitchen and cooking.
