Idle Spurs for steak sandwiches, salads, they have a lunch and dinner steak house menu, can sit at the bar if you are alone. Hwy 58 heading West out of town, kind of convoluted across the Mojave River, but it's decent, nice atmosphere for Barstow. Los Domingos is a family chain of better than good Mexican food, good Chili Verde burritos and Shrimp Rancheros, Chorizo eggs. On another note, Barstow is home to the original Del Taco, and their family, which is still run by the daughter.

Was recently there and had some surprisingly good Mexican food at a hole-in-the-wall called Lola's Kitchen. The salsa verde on the huevos rancheros was really good.

Haven't been a while, but Robertitos has been reliably good. Take out only, open 24 hrs.
I like the huevos con machaca.

On my way through Barstow a few weeks ago I saw a place called Texas Style Bar-BQ. Wasn't hungry (had just stuffed myself silly in Las Vegas) so I didn't stop to eat but it sure looked promising.

If you feel like giving it a shot I'm sure I'm not the only one who would appreciate reading your review.
