Hard Spring Wheat in bulk (i.e. I want a big sac of grain)

Hey all,

... been looking for a good local source for hard spring wheat in bulk. It's been a long while since I've bought any bread (I think I'm coming up on my two year anniversary) but I just got a flour mill and I've been dieing to get it into play. All I've found are these little 500g bags in the various 'hippie food' stores that seem to be really really overpriced.

any hounds with a snoot for whole grains?

cheers,
zap

Another one of those items that might be available through brewing-supply stores, though it may be a bit of a long shot. If nothing else, they should be able to give you a lead on a source. (Non-malted grains are used in certain beers, such as Wit.)

Try contacting La Chope à Barrock, http://www.choppeabarrock.com/ (no such product listed on their site, but the site looks pretty rudimentary and incomplete)

      Yup, its hard to find
      however
contact the local Mormons, you might be able to buy from them in the #10 size tin.
also contact Le Moulin Legare in St Eustache. I believe they will order in the amount you want, 50lbs, 100 lbs that sort of thing. They are an historical mill who display stone grinding, they also sell flour in small bags.
Let me know woh your search turns out.
