good value on smoked salmon

You can get frozen sides of smoked salmon at Connelly's seafood for 10.95 per pound. They have two pound sides, and also 8 ounce trays but I think the trays are all tails from filleted fish.

the sides come in sliced and unsliced. I prefer to slice them myself, much thinner than they do. I think it brings out more flavor. The sliced sides will say 'presliced' on the package, and the unsliced come in the same package with the word 'presliced' covered with a sticker.

Newmarket Square I think? I seem to recall seeing either a truck or a sign out of the corner of my eye whilst zeroing in on the Speed's hot dog cart. Either that or I'm mixing up Connelly with "Kinneally"

        Whoops, sorry.

Connelly's is located in Gloucester. They're a seafood processor with a decent retail counter. I think the retail counter is open something like 9:30 - 3 weekdays and 9:30 to 1 saturdays, but maybe double check if you're making a trip.

FABulous house, hot-smoked tuna, bluefish and salmon there as well, @$6 a pound!
Make sure to bring cash, that's all they take.
I think they're open til 5 or so...

There's both a Connelly's and a Kinnealy in Newmarket Sq.

Don't know if the Newmarket branch sells retail like in Gloucester.

      2. Almost worth a drive, now that the sun has finally decided to shine once again! There is a web site, and it appears that only the Gloucester location is retail.

Bring a cooler, and bring ash. They furnish ice, and the excellent prices and quality. We got swordfish tips for grilling a few weeks ago; $7 a pound. TC says one of the best meals he ever ate...
