New Haven BBq?

I'm always looking for good BBQ (ribs, pulled pork, you name it). Haven't found anything in New Haven yet. Any suggestions?

Also, I was driving on Forbes Avenue the other day and a hand made sign that said bbq and head cheese. I was in a rush and couldn't stop, but it looked like just a house. Anyone know anything about that?

In the past I have enjoyed the Rib House on Route 1 in East Haven. Both the St. Louis and Baby Backs are popular.

There is Uncle Willies in West Haven, just off exit 42 on 95, They just moved to this location, which looks like a former home., and has been several ill fated restaurants. When they were on Whalley Ave in New Haven I had spotty meals there, went from poor to very good. There is a Texas Road house chain restaurant up the road but I have not been or even heard anything about it

INteresting. . . he came back to West Haven. I think I know the location you speak of but had not heard he came back to West Haven. Remember, they used to be on Route 1 years ago in Orange. Nothing seems to survive there.

They have had three locations. I was not aware "he" left. I only knew of the Whalley Ave. location closing recently. There is a Waterbury location (and supposedly the best), and I knew there used to be a Orange location (89 Boston Post Rd, Orange, CT 06477(203) 389-2065).
The new location is just off exit 42, on Saw Mill Road.
