Doh! Thought this was a really interesting approach - 6 months, $60k and a bunch of promotion bang for the buck. They've narrowed it down to 10 finalists for a 'Wine Country Lifestyle Correspondent.'
One of the tasks is tracking down ideal picnic spots. (I would hope they would incorporate wonderful Sonoma food too.) Although somewhere in not-exactly-fine print, it mentions that duties may also include tracking local raptor populations.
Ran across this while trying to figure out which one of their wines is the gorgeous buttery chardonnay* I've had before. (*Not a chardonnay lover, absent secondary malo-lactic fermentation.)
