not-too-fancy dinner in croton/mt.kisco/pleasantville/bedford/peakskill area?

i'm trying to organize a dinner where my parents can meet my future in-laws... we decided to split the difference and meet somewhere in the croton/mt.kisco/pleasantville/bedford/peakskill area, though other towns are a possibility. i don't know the area at all, so i was hoping some fellow chowhounds could help by recommending a nice restaurant that's not too fancy or expensive (entre├ęs under $20)? i want it to be a casual place, but obviously the food and service have to be good! thanks for any advice!

  1. Umami in Croton would fill the bill re: casual, affordable entrees. If the weather's nice, have them seat you in the covered outdoor area.

    1. Here is a link on some prix fixe deals in the area.....
I like the Piatto Grill in Yorktown and Goldfish in Ossining, of course I would call ahead to make sure they are still offering the same deal. The prix fixe is usually only offered on weekdays.

      1. Zeph's in Peekskill is lovely, food is great, and only slightly over your budget. It would make a wonderful evening.
