Need a GREAT restaurant at the Jersey Shore?

Hi All!

It's a big birthday for my Dad and my brother and I want to take him out for a nice dinner out to celebrate. He just moved to a new place in Ocean Grove NJ, so I don't know the area all that well yet.

Can anyone recommend a great restaurant in either Ocean Grove, Asbury Park or Spring Lake areas? We are flexible on price - we just want to pick something delicious - and an ocean view place wouldn't hurt either.

My Dad loves Italian food and seafood...but other options are good too.

Many thanks in advance for the recommendations!

I would suggest Stella Marina as it satisfies most if not all of your criteria; Italian, Asbury Park, and ocean view. Good Luck.

      Agree 110% on this suggestion.

Have not dined here myself, but a co-worker went about two weeks ago and gave it RAVE reviews FWIW.

Moonstruck could also be an option. No ocean but a good view of Wesley Lake & Ocean Grove off the outdoor decks...

Moonstruck is chic, pretty serene atmosphere, white tablecloths, etc.. and delicious food. Please try the broiled combo platter....sooooo good! Stella Marina is equally sweet for a party, but the service is young and a little intrusive (went for lunch and they were not busy). My vote is for Moonstruck....BTW, does anyone know if Moonstruck is still offering prix fixe on Wednesdays? Tried calling, but no answer and nothing on the website...I have a bet w/my husband, I say YES and he says NO...thanks so much!

Stella Marina. i was there last week, Thursday the wait for your meal was 1 1/2 hours... that's way to long ...the waiter kept apologizing for the very very very long wait I would try a place like Matisse in Belmar on the beach, same great views and much better service, if i was taking my Dad i would not be looking to go to the hot spot of the week, and feel rushed. I will wait until after the summer to give Stella Marina a fair shot

Stella is good and so is Moonstruck which I would probally go with but remember they do not take reservations. Stella I'm not sure if they do or not. Forget Spring Lake.
If the view is the most important factor then do Watermark for a coctail and Stella for dinner afterward.
