Farewell, Oceanaire

Didn't see this posted elsewhere, but today's Seattle Times reports Oceanaire Seafood Room in Seattle has closed:

I know it's a chain and seafood restaurants grow on trees here, but I rather liked this place. The whole steakhouse vibe, the service, and the of course, the variety of fresh seafood.

Oh well.

  1. Great. I have a gift certificate for them. That should teach me. I have been hanging on to it so we could use it when we stay over a weekend. I wonder if other Oceanaires will honor it...

Bummer. That is a little scary. I wonder what else is on the way out.

I'll miss it. I had some superb and pricey emals there in the days before I owned a home..

Probably not I read the whole chain has gone into bankruptcy

It has, but twelve locations are still open. I'd expect them to still honor the gift certificate - but it would be best to go sooner rather than later, I'd imagine!

      2. I have a friend that worked there. Nobody called the employees - people arrived to work only to find the doors locked. The exec chef took it on himself to start calling everyone.
