How old is the Trois Monts I drank?
Just wondering if the number on the cork mean anything? Mine was Brasserie de Saint Sylvestre 1105.
It's the second time I've done this - drinking old beer and actually lucked out with good result.
The Trois Monts Grand Reserve Special had been in my fridge for about 6,7 years, perhaps? Prior to that I don't know how long it's been in the store's display window....
That it was flat I had expected, but it wasn't skanky, and had more depth than other Trois Monts I've had. There was a fruity scent somewhat like Lychee. I don't think I could persuade anyone else to drink this with me, but then it's the 2nd time I've had drinkable beer that's supposedly past its prime.
