We attempted to have brunch at Buttermilk Channel this weekend but it was too crowded. I was actually surprised by this given the mixed reviews. Anyhow, 20-30 minute wait per the hostess and we just didn't have the time to spare. Walking back down Court we saw that Prime Meats was virtually empty and stopped in there instead. I had challah french toast and my husband had the burger with 2 yr grafton cheddar. My french toast was served with powdered sugar, syrup on the side and a handful of really fresh (local) berries. The burger came with fries sprinkled with salt and pepper and a pickle. We were both impressed. I usually find french toast disappointing, but this was incredible. It was very crunchy on the outside but not overcooked. The two pieces were actually too much for me. It was shockingly filling. My husband had a few bites, too, but we simply couldn't eat it all. He gave the burger two thumbs up. The french fries were very nicely done, too. We couldn't understand why it was so empty - prices were very reasonable, food was delicious and service was friendly. We will definitely be back.

We tried to go there a few weeks ago for brunch, but they had a no strollers / no high chairs policy, so we went to Kevin's with our 1-year-old instead. I totally respect a restaurant's decision to not have kids -- it's their prerogative, but that may explain why the place was rather empty. Seems like 80% of people in this neighborhood have young kids.

Sounds delicious. Will have to check them out in a few years when the kid can sit in a normal chair. :)

I saw the no strollers sign but our son was with his granparents so we were dining alone. I didn't think to ask about high chairs. It does say that they love to have kids, though, on the same sign. The place was pretty narrow, but I guess they also have seating outside in the back. I hope they have some high chairs or that they get some soon.

They do have a good brunch there. The French toast is similar to what they serve at Frankies--not that I'm complaining, it is really the best French toast I've ever had. We were told by one of the servers there that they were going to expand the brunch menu in the future; perhaps that will attract more people.

Inside, it is a very narrow space, and I for one am grateful they have a no-stroller policy. Even the outdoor space as it is now is really tiny.
