Officers Clubs?
Are there any officers clubs still in operation in the Bay area? I know all the bases have been de-activated, but seems to me I've been to the very nice club at Fort Mason after that happened.
Also, what's up with the historic old officers club building in the Presidio?
The ones in the Presidio, Fort Mason, and Alameda are all rental venues.

The same with Treasure Island.

I've seen several interesting art shows at the Officers Club at the Presidio. It's a beautiful building to wander around in. They also have a little gift shop. I've seen them setting up for various events, and it looks like a great spot for a party. There don't seem to be any exhibits there right now, but here's a link for a description:

It used to be very good.

There have been a couple of reports on the restaurant: Leathernecks. Some claim it's the best steakhouse in the city, and it has a lovely view. Someone else reported having a successful wedding reception there.

You might be interested in the old Fort Baker, which is now a resort with a good restaurant. The resort is called Cavallo Point and their restaurant is Murray Circle. I'm not sure if the restaurant is in the old OC or not, but they did a great job of preserving the architectural integrity and details of the original buildings throughout the complex.
Here is the url for the place: www.cavallopoint.com
The restaurant has been well covered on chowhound; you can find the reviews by clicking the link below.
