Need Recommendations-Bay St. Louis
Need some recommendations. I will be in the Bay St. Louis area the last week of July. I am staying in Bay St. Louis and working at the Stennis Space Center that week.
I'm flying in and out of Biloxi, so any help would be appreciated. I am looking for places to eat at that entire week. I know about the Blow Fly Inn and The Shed.
Are there some good joints around the Stennis Space Center i should make it to??
Thanks for the information!
Several places come to mind immediately! Trapani's has reopened- they are on Hwy 90 now instead of Old Town Bay St Louis, but the food is every bit as good. Try the fried green tomatoes- not your usual plain old deep fried concoction, but something wonderful...
Ricky's has also reopened in a strip shopping center- while we haven't been able to get there yet, my in-laws have, and they said that the food was every bit as good as it used to be when they were a block off the beach. If I recall, one of the best things on the menu was an appetizer combo- can't remember for the life of me what was on it (I have notes somewhere), but I do remember it being enough for two- especially if you added a cup of gumbo or soup and maybe a salad...
The Lunch Box has reopened- again on Hwy 90. They have great poboys, but their lunch specials are really what you want- stuffed peppers and the like...
Hope this helps a little- I've had a long weekend and need to go to bed, but couldn't resist adding something- hopefully others will add more!
re: edible complex
Geo Morse's 4 Corners has closed. Another restaurant is operating in the same space, but I have not been as yet. BSL has pretty much been covered in the previous posts. Pass Christian: Cuevas Bistro on Menge is wonderful, Lucio's on Davis has great Mexican food and the Pirate's Cove is serving great po boys in its new location on Market St. In Waveland, there is the West End restaurant on Hwy 90 for good seafood. If you want fine dining, there is Vrazel's in Gulfport on Hwy 90. There's also a good little restaurant called Salute also on Hwy 90, past Hwy 49.
