I remember a while back seeing something about a new bar/restaurant opening up (within the last 2 months) in the Fort Point Channel area. Anyone know what its called?

The restaurant is called Sportello, Italian for counter service, the bar underneath is called Drink. Both great places - go to drink and tell them what you are in the mood for, something summery, or gingery, and they will make it for you!

Drink opened last October: are you thinking of something newer?

Other sorta-newish places (last year or so) with both food and drink in Fort Point and the Seaport include: Persephone, M.J. O'Connor's (Westin), City Bar (Westin), 606 Congress (Renaissance), Morton's, and Salvatore's.

I was thinking of a more bohemian type place...I think they have live music and art on Fridays....anything ringing a bell?

Sounds like it could be Persephone. The only other place I can think of is the Channel Cafe, but they've been around for several years now.

Channel Cafe has been open for a few years- but I think that they have recently put more emphasis on their "night" appeal. Trying to make the switch from just a lunch spot for the businesses in the area to keep up with the rest of FPC.
I have to say-they have some pretty good food there. I had an Italian tuna salad a couple of weeks ago from them- superb.

Yes, Channel Cafe always has art from local artists, and they recently added a DJ on Friday nights and live music on Saturday nights. I haven't been there in the evening, but I really like it for lunch.

Their website is http://www.channel-cafe.com/ -- click on "Weekend events" to see the music schedule.
