New good restaurants that have opened in the past year
I belive mIla opened a couple yrs back as well as the bourcherie section of cochon. any others that are noteworthy?
has dunbars' reopened?
is there anywhere to uggie-style cooking?
and there was a restaurant that served weired, contintental cuisine stuff like shark bacon is that still around?
lastly, has anyone been to Kpaul's or Brigsten's or Emeril's recently?
and is Mosca's a doable taxi ride from the quarter or wharehouse district? and can a solo diner go there and still have a great experience (i previously believed it was more family style???)
thanks for the help.
I have been to Mosca's as a single diner and enjoyed it. The crab salad is good as well as the chicken and pineapple cake for dessert. Take plenty of cash because they do not accept plastic. I have had good experiences at Emeril's and K-Paul's as a single diner. I was not as comfortable at Brigsten's although I did like it. Dunbar's relocated to the Loyola University Law School. I have been to a lot restaurants in New Orleans alone and always have a good time.
Bigray in Ok
rambla, galvez, reincarnation of madrid now in lakeview, reincarnation of santa fe on esplanade, boucherie, squeal, curry corner, name change of cafe granada from fiesta bistro (with some new menu items), huevos, clever (wine bar w/tapas), hostel, nonna mia, le meritage, felipes in the qtr, green goddess, coquette, tony angelo's (reopened), steak knife (back on harrison ave.), helix, suave's, boswell's (relocated and reopened), big shirley's, chill out cafe, pupuseria la macarena (uptown), cochon butcher, leonardo's trattoria, iris (relocated to qtr.)
We dine at Emeril's on average 4-5 times a month. Food and service always excellent. IMO, Mosca's is not worth the ride.
new places ive enjoyed and readily recommend: Green Goddess, Boucherie, Patois, Coquette, Rambla.
mosca's is about 30 mins from the quarter, and i wouldnt pay cab fare for it. or really go unless somebody else was paying..
