Ethnic is always good, moderate price, not too far a walk...will probably only have one hour. Thanks!

this thread is a great starting point:

as Miss Needle pointed out, you'll be close to Koreatown.

I highly recommend Bar Breton, on 5th Av. , b/t 28th & 29th Sts. Delicious food. Galettes are the house specialty. Friendly service. Attractive decor. Bar and table dining.

I had brunch there recently and had a very nice meal.

Not ethnic but you could try Penelope's which is great for lunch.

Korean fried chicken at Bon Chon (might be called Mad for Chicken now though)

Szechuan Gourmet is a bit of a longer walk but worth it for Szechuan cuisine.

There's also Artisanal, which isn't too far from the Empire state building and they have great mac and cheese! If you end up going to Koreatown, you can't go wrong with Mandoo Bar, Gahm Ni Oak, or Natural Tofu.

Tina's on Madison between 33rd & 34th. Good cuban food.
