They seem similar to what you are describing. Many restaurants serve them...some even have a cold noodle version. I have tried the one at Asian Legend, it's okay. I recall having a Korean version somewhere as well, but I can't remember which restaurant... I doubt Asian Legend would be serving the best Chinese dan dan/tan tan mein, but perhaps one of our incredibly well-versed hounds can point you in the direction of one (there's no decent ramen, let alone any more complex variations of ramen in the GTA anyways)?
