Anyone know where to find Japanese tantanmen (noodles & minced pork in a sesame broth) in Toronto?

I don't know about Japanese tantanmen. But you might want to try Chinese dan dan or tan tan mein (noodles). They seem similar to what you are describing. Many restaurants serve them...some even have a cold noodle version. I have tried the one at Asian Legend, it's okay. Good luck

Thanks sweetie. Yes, the dan dan mien at Asian Legend is somewhat similar, but nowhere near as good.

Here's a picture of what I'm looking for:

I don't think I've had Japanese tantanmen in Toronto, but there must be some Chinese restaurants doing a serviceable version. I recall having a Korean version somewhere as well, but I can't remember which restaurant...

I doubt Asian Legend would be serving the best Chinese dan dan/tan tan mein, but perhaps one of our incredibly well-versed hounds can point you in the direction of one (there's no decent ramen, let alone any more complex variations of ramen in the GTA anyways)?

I had a chinese dan dan mien that looked like that... it was at first markham place but the restaurant is now closed - it was the yummiest I had eaten though

I've had it a couple times at Kingyo. Tasty.

I had tantanmen today in the food court of Sheppard E/Glen Walford Drive looked just like your photo without the red chili oil and bean sprouts. It was in a very rich peanut/white sesame broth. It may be a Taiwanese version.
