Dinner in Louisville - Suggestions?
- Pylon Jul 4, 2009 05:18 PM
Heading there for a couple of days with family. Looking for suggestions on local, preferably not too noisy, nothing too upscale. Vegetarian friendly would be great, but not a requirement. Youngest diner is 12, but he doesn't eat much no matter where we go.
Any great local/hidden/not-to-be-missed spots out there?
Side note: Will be making a quick escape via the airport. Anyone know if there is decent food there, or do I need to grab something on the way?

Zen Garden is vegetarian and, as a meat lover, is very satisfying and highly recommended if you like asian inspired food.
Next door is Basa (modern Vietnamese) and across the street is Bourbon's Bistro. North End Cafe also comes to mind. Blue Dog Bakery or Wild Eggs for breakfast or lunch but not necessarily quiet.
Any particular part of town or type of food?
The airport has basic cafe/bar menu type food available.
3rd Ave Cafe is a great spot--affordable, great atmosphere, and fantastic vegetarian-vegan options. Lots of soups, salads, sandwiches. It's in Old Louisville on 3rd st.
