It would be very helpful to have some criteria, i.e. indoor/outdoor, any specific part of the city, restaurant vs. hall, approx. no. of people. :-)

We will be around 250 people, outdoor for the cocktail will be a plus and indoor for the rest of the night. I like big loft and space with a lot of window where you can see the city (very industrial). The part of the city do not matters to much... but the food is very important for me and my fiancé, we will like to bring our own catering if it possible. Our big day will take place next summer...
Thank you

The closest thing that would fit your description would be the Science Centre in Old Montreal, probably the Belvedere room, although there are other options. It has a terrace, view of the old port, and you can bring in your own catering.

The Belvedere Room is great - another plus is that if your event is on an evening that coincides with the fireworks, you have a prime view of them from the terrasse. The other room at the Science Centre (The Panoramic Hall) is a little small for that many people (216 people for a sit-down dinner, and that would be crowded), and has no outdoor space.
Darling Foundry is sometimes available, although I don't know what their capacity is - also a great space. Parisian Laundry is odd - I know they can be rented for weddings etc, as a caterer I was using has done events like weddings there, but when I called to check about renting the space earlier this year, I was told they didn't allow events like that...

I really like the Chateau Vaudreuil. I go for retreats there a couple of times a year (gang of about 20), and they have never disappointed. The only problem with the outdoor part is that it can get a little windy by the water. It is really quite beautiful there, especially at night with all the little white lights as you look out over the water. The food has also always been very good (their lamb is one of my favorites).

I have a group heading there for their Sunday brunch on labor day week-end. I hear the brunch is quite good too.
