I used to eat these in British Columbia many years ago but haven't found any fresh ones in Ontario ever.

On a similar note, why does no one grow saskatoons in Ontario?

Saskatoon berries (Amelanchier alnifolia/Western Serviceberry) are serviceberries, which do grow all over Ontario. Trees and bushes are readily available at any garden centre.
