Does good late night dining exist in downtown Montreal? Late night is a kitchen that is open after 11:30PM. We just had a n awful meal at Les 3 Brasseurs because it was one of the few places that we could actually find open near midnight on Ste Catherine. Are there some hidden gems? We have a car and we we are willing to drive for decent food late at night.

If you want real food, l'Express on St-Denis has a late kitchen. Otherwise your best late-nite street snack in downtown will be the one and only Boustan on Crescent just above de Maisonneuve.

L'Express does not serve brunch. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week. So depending on the time you go you will be offered either a breakfast or lunch menu.

would avoid Boustan, the meats are left over, and their pita is like cardboard, for a bit of a more upscale Le Ferriera on Peel has portuguese upscalr cuisine and is open late, also I think La Montee is open late also

Dunn's isn't fine dining, but it has some decent items (matzo ball soup, fries, club, grilled-chicken club) and I'm pretty sure it's open 24 hrs. 1249 Metcalfe - corner Ste-Catherine

A few Chinatown places are open very late, check out Beijing, VIP, Hong Kong. (may want to call first to be sure of hours)

Also, once again, not fine dining, but Schwartz's is open til 12:30 on weekdays, and between 1:30 & 2:30 am on weekends, and you're certainly less likely to have to wait in line. A good time to get your smoked-meat fix:
