There is very little information about this region on this board, although one or two tantalizing mentions of it having some of most consistently delicious food in France.

Anything at all on this area? Any budget, any concept, town or country...

I enjoyed lunch once at La Chaumière, a Michelin one-star just outside of Dole. I had the chicken dish using the distinctive local white wine "vin jaune". I know another foodie who also was very pleased with this restaurant. The service was a bit hesitant or awkward, but no real problem. Try to keep a straight face when the chef comes out to greet you--he was wearing wild pink glasses the day I was there!

In Arbois, Jean-Paul Jeunet is one of the great French chefs. In Malbuisson, Faivre au Bon Accueil runs an excellent restaurant/lovely hotel. Also in Malbuisson, le restaurant du Fromage is a very delicious simple place (guess what they cook). On the mont d'or, there is a mountain farm called La Boissaude. Also, the Swiss three stars are very close (Rochat at Crissier and Rabaey at Brent, I don't recommend the first one).
