is there any where outstanding to have crepes in paris? I have read about breizh cafe, but i am unexcited about buckwheat crepes. I am staying off the Champs Elysees , so if proximate to that , would be ideal. I have found that by just going to a stall they have a pile of already made crepes which are just not as great as freshly made ones! Happy for a stall or a cafe , just after quality please

Why would be unexcited about buckwheat? They're thoroughly delicious, and the standard for savory crepes in France. Sweet crepes are made with wheat only.

To answer your question, I am not aware of outstanding crepes to be had in Paris. But Le Pot-O-Lait, rue Censier, is my favourite in town (Breizh is good too, but it's an international star now, which I don't find attractive).

Now maybe what you have in mind is crepes as a dessert, as your buckwheat remark suggests? L'Auberge Bressane for instance has pretty good crepes suzette for dessert. I think Lasserre does too.

Souphie, your analysis is correct, we prefer sweet crepes, not savoury ones, though were hoping to have these at a cafe for lunch rather than a fancy restaurant. Does Le Pot O Lait do sweet crepes (eg Grnad marnier, or Chocolat)?

All creperies do sweet crepes, including le Pot-O-Lait. Many cafés do. L'Auberge Bressane is not a fancy restaurant but it is not a café.

Many will also say that some good crepe can be bought from street vendors. I still haven't found a great one, but it's always pleasant to have melting Nutella in a crepe fixed for you at a street corner.
