looking for a restaurant specializing in cheese in toronto

i know it's never a good idea to compare toronto restaurants with new york city ones, but i'm looking for toronto's version of this: http://www.artisanalbistro.com/menus.php

basically someplace i can get cheese and maybe wine or champagne flights.

any ideas?

thank you!

Try reds bistro, they have an excellent selection, many of them from Cheese Boutique. Here is the cheese menu from their website: http://www.redsbistro.com/menus/chees...

Just walked past Crush, and noticed they're having a series of wine & cheese tastings w/ the Cheese Boutique this summer.

As an inversion to Wahooty's comment, I've been to Carens and recommend it but Cafe Taste is still on my list. Globe Bistro has a nice local cheese menu.

A lot of high end restaurants have reasonable cheese offerings. I doubt they have cheese flights though.

Caren's in Yorkville. Doesn't just about every fine restaurant have a cheese plate?

Yes, but none of them are on Park Avenue and have the words "artisanal" and "bistro" in their names. <cough> As far as Toronto goes, one of my favorite places to have a plate of cheese and a wine to match (or rather, vice versa) is Cafe Taste in Parkdale - their slant is decidedly organic/biodynamic and/or local. Caren's is on my list, but I haven't been yet. And if you're okay with limiting yourself to Ontario wines (or non-Ontario beers), Volo does a good cheese board, but generally the pairing responsibilities are up to you.

I agree with Wahooty's Cafe Taste recommendation. You can check out their menu here: http://www.cafetaste.ca/menu/
