focaccia in SD

keena Jul 1, 2009 01:17 PM

I need some good focaccia for an informal gourmet sandwich party I am going to have. Jonathan's doesn't stock or Whole Foods. Trader Joes used to but has some funky green olive rosemary stuff. Bread Cie doesn't have plain stuff they sell, only the pizza kind.
Anyplace in the PB/LJ area that may have it? Or even in SD?

Have you checked Con Pane in Point Loma?

Try Charlies' Best Bread in PB, same shopping center as Great News! and Lotsa Pasta.

Josh's suggestion is good too if you've got the time. It's not terribly difficult to make.

If you go early sometimes Bread and Cie will sell you some. You can also call and special order the foccacia.

Pretty easy and quick stuff to make, buy some dough from a pizza joint or super market, use good evoo, fresh herbs maybe some romano, bake it in a sheet pan, voila!
