I just happened to be searching for some restaurants last night and found the link below. Hopefully that might help. Have fun in St.Louis.

I wouldn't rely upon that list. Niche is number one in most everyone's book. Morton's, which is number one on the list, is one of a chain of expensive steakhouses. It's nothing you couldn't find in lots of other cities.

That is a tough one. I'll throw out a few-

For lunch only- Crown Candy Kitchen. It is on the north side of downtown. Man vs Food went there and puked on the shake challenge. It was built in the early 1900's and is a total throwback to that era. Home made ice cream, sandwiches, GREAT BLT.

For Dinner, Niche is probably the hottest spot in town. Gerard Craft was on some mag covers, and also nominated for the James beard. Don't know if he got it or not.
Also, Sidney Street Cafe for dinner. Near Niche. Both are excellent.

Iron Barley. High class food in a restaurant with a decor that can only be called "early VFW Hall". Need a car to get there.

Hope you got to Ted Drewe's for frozen custard. A St. Louis institution and the happiest place in town. Also got a taste of St. Louis pizza and some toasted ravioli. Please report back.
