One night in Nashville

Hi there. Am heading to Nashville for the first time next week--and am dying to have dinner out at either a fried chicken or BBQ place that is a locals' favorite. I'm staying downtown, and won't have a rental car, but would love recommendations for any place either downtown or a reasonable cab ride away.

Thanks in advance! Looking forward to your suggestions.

  1. Take the short cab ride to Monell's in Germantown. Good Southern cookin' served family style. Fried chicken at every meal. Good stuff.

    1. If you want something unique to Nashville and like seriously spicy food, go for some hot chicken. There are several places that specialize in this, but Prince's Hot Chicken Shack is probably the most well reviewed/popular.

Jack's is downtown on Broadway. I think it's pretty good BBQ. A lot of purists might disagree and of course nothing will get an argument started faster than recommending a restaurant for BBQ, but given your location it's an option.
