I've been updating the lists I keep on my phone to reflect new options and changed hours, so thought I'd start a new topic.

SF:
Late hours for Heaven's Dog and RN74 are from Michael Bauer's blog, I'm not sure they're correct:
Bar Crudo, Mon.-Sat. 11pm, Sun. 10pm
Globe, Mon.-Sat. 1am, Sun. 11:30pm
Heaven's Dog, 1:30am daily?
Lers Ros, 1:30am daily
Nopa, 1am daily
Oola, 1am Tues.-Sat., midnight Sun.-Mon.
Poleng Lounge, 1am Sun.-Thurs., 10pm Fri.-Sat.
RN74, 1am daily?
Thai House Express on Larkin, midnight daily
Yuet Lee, 3am Wed.-Mon. (closed Tues.)
Zuni, midnight Fri.-Sat., 11pm Sun. & Tues.-Thurs. (closed Mon.)
Note the midweek cutback at Zuni. Sigh.

Seriously Robert, just search the Places (Restaurants) database. Heaven's Dog is one of the few that changed recently and IMO, if there's something you find has changed wouldn't it be just better to update those records than do threads that expire and are unchangable.
Heaven's Dog will be open till 1 am. If you do a Google some blog or paper mentioned the hours ... not Bauer's since I rarely read it.
Here's SF late night. I haven't updated Heaven's Dog yet because they are not changing the hours until this month (July)
http://search.chow.com/search?query=S...
Change the search criteria from SF to ":East Bay" or city of your choice for results in that area. Or South Bay. Or North Bay. The reason I've been putting SF in Place records is to narrow down the search to that city.
One place that surprised me with late night hours recently was Rudy's Can't Fail Cafe whick is open till 1am
I define late night as after 11 pm. I've been consistant with that .... even in the burbs which was a choice because often the further from the city the fewer joints open after 11 pm.
Maybe not all good restaurants, but good enough for that hour, North Beach seems to be the hub of late night eats in SF with more restaurants open late than any other area in the city. So if no access to a phone or list ... head to North Beach.
There are also records labeled as "early" for early morning eats which means prior to 7 am ... or open 24 hours.
Then again, there's always the issue of whether search will work when they put in the latest 'fix".

I keep those lists on my phone to check which places I like are open when I'm looking for dinner when I get out of a movie or concert at, say, midnight on Tuesday.
An unstructured Wiki with no standards for concepts such as "late" or "inexpensive" is useless for that purpose, plus chow.com/places doesn't work very well on my phone's browser.

If it has the word 'late', 95 % have the hours on the record as well. It might give you some new leads.. It is not like a post is any more reliable and probably less so as the hours were researched for the Places database.
It is not that I won't re-check the places mentioned here., though my efforts will go to places as I believe it serves the community better.
We were not talking about inexpensive, however those records mesh with sites such as Yelp, opentable, menupages. It is a starting point and since if there is a website or menu available, the restaurant record has something one can check to see if the definition of inexpensive matches someone's criteria. Quite frankly, after looking at a dozen sites which use different criteria to rate prices, no matter what is used, an inexpensive restaurant is an inexpensive restuarnt ... and so on in every category. Anyway I think there will soon be standards for those price levels.

Opentable's the only restaurant database that's structured to handle queries about what's open at a particular time in a particular area, though it has other limitations.
