So how bout them Canada Day butter tarts?
I just read an article in The Star about the Wilkes preparing 1200 butter tarts for Canada Day.. are they really that good? Where can you normally get them without having to drive all the way to Orillia?
Anyone going to Harbourfront today to try some?

I started salivating reading that article and I'm not a dessert/sweets person. I was not at Harbourfont and I've never tried a Wilkies butter tart but I would now given the opportunity. I was impressed that he tried to make them as fresh as possible even with such a large order. I found it interesting the article never mentioned the actual name of the bakery although I see it's on the cutline on the photo for the online version. I assumed it was named Wilkie's - but still.

re: JamieK
It's Wilkie's Bakery, 169 Mississaga Street East, Orillia (main street - towards the end nearest the lake) - they also have a table at the Saturday market in Orillia.
AMAZING butter tarts. They make them with raisins (my preference) or pecans. Try to go earlier in the day, or they may run out.
Did I mention AMAZING :) ?
