i'd love to make this classic summer cocktail up at the lakehouse this weekend. astor has the goslings, but wither barritt's ginger beer? anyone know of a seller in brooklyn or manhattan, or perhaps a different suggestion? i'm not crazy about the widely available reeds brand.

Two for the Pot, on Clinton St. near Atlantic Ave. in Brooklyn Heights sells Idris brand ginger beer. It's nice and nose-tickling and it's what we use for our dark & stormy.

The shop also has an interesting selection of coffees, teas, chocolate bars, spice blends, and British sundries.

I've become hooked on the Buttermilk Channel variation on a Dark and Stormy. They add a touch of pomegranate juice and squeeze of lemon (I know that's heresy) and it's delicious. Give it a try.
