Has anyone been to a Rita's? its a chain that serves, Italian Ice, Frozen Custard, Cream Ice, and other frozen goodies according to their website (http://www.ritasice.com)! It's right next to Barney McNabbs.
Miki, it's a chain, and I've been to a bunch in the Philly area. I wouldn't make a special trip, but it would be a good treat if you were nearby!
it's a chain, but far better than you'd expect from one.
years ago, we used to try and hit the rita's on the way back through philly/trenton area. they've now expanded a lot, but it's still pretty good stuff.
have the "gelati", which in this case isn't what you'd expect, but a combination of soft serve vanilla ice cream and italian ice...my preference is cherry in that combination.
I drove past there the other day, and was so excited to seen the words "Frozen Custard" on their sign. There is no other place nearby that serves frozen custard, so chain or not, I'm excited to try it!
I have never been there, but there is a Rita's Ice in Mamaroneck in the Trader Joe's shopping center as well.
