I'm a charcoal man myself, but I just helped my Father-In-Law assemble his new gas grill and on the back right leg there is a 6" metal pin attached to a chain and there is no mention in the manual about it...Anybody out there know what it is for??

Thanks,
Bill

Does it have a little clip on the end of the metal pin (like a split ring)? If so, it's a match holder for manual lighting.

It doesn't have a clip but the pin is crimped at the bottom so you could put a match in there. Thanks so much for the answer...No wonder the manual didn't mention it!!
