FINE LUNCH DINING in MANHATTAN?

I need a restaurant place to take someone out for a celebratory lunch. I usually loved to go to Gotham for the great food and service, but that was years ago. He likes Italian. Any ideas?

      Nougatine at Jean Georges. Excellent! Three Courses for 24 bucks. Best deal in town.

      It's not Italian but as suggested, Jean George would be a great choice. And since it is celebratory, as opposed to say a romantic reason, I would also say Eleven Madison Park because it benefits from an air of grandness.

            Jean Georges is amazing with their $28 2 course lunch. But not Italian . . .
