Milos-Sushi is Cheaper

Now Milos is a beautiful place and Mrs. GG loves it. But how do you justify $45/lb for gulf shrimp or snapper? Even if the fish is imported, it's ridiculous. We shared a whole snapper, beautifuly prepared, but at just over 2 pounds, the damn fish cost $104! Eevn if flown to NYC from the piraeus in Athens, it's a lot closer than Tsukiji Market in Tokyo. Sushi is cheaper.

i agree at milos the prices are just punitive. great if youre on an expense account, but even still, you cant feel good about a $100 piece of fish and then the slap-in-the-face $20 charge for a side plate of roasted vegetables. quality and prep is flawless, but dang, can i get something on the side with my $100 fish? maybe their only flaw is the complete absence of an edible starchy side.
