Sammy's Noodle

A good friend of mine from out of town loves Sammy's Noodle on 6th Avenue in the West Village. Recently, I heard that it has closed down. Can you guys let me know if that's true? The food there is a little too Americanized for me so I don't visit Sammy's when he is not in town but I thought if any of you live close by, maybe you can let me know what's going on.

Also, I noticed on-line that there is another restaurant called "Sammy's Noodle and Grill". (I think it's the one at the corner of 6th Ave and 11th Street?)... Is that affiliated with Sammy's Noodle? I remember seeing it on the street but we always go to the one further north on 6th Avenue... Do they serve similar types of food? Basically what my friend likes is the wonton soup with roast meats but he doesnt' like Chinatown so he wouldn't eat his noodle soups down there..... sigh... I guess he misses out on a lot of good food for not wanting to go......

Thank you guys ahead of time!
