Does anyone know where to get some small potatoes in the Charlotte area to use for "Salt Potatoes" ? Also, any upstate NYers will know what "Salt Potatoes are. They are a main staple for summer cookouts!!

You can find baby new potatoes (I think those are the ones you use for salt potatoes) at most Harris Teeters. They are in small black-netting bags where all the other potatoes are kept.

Many of the farmers at the markets around town have them also.

You can get them at farmer's markets on Saturday morning or Tuesday afternoon at the Tailgate. Dean Mullis of Laughing Owl, Carl Wagner of Carlea Farms, Donnie Cline of New Beginning and Maria Fisher all have been bringing in terrific small potatoes for several weeks know. Several varieties, all muy tasty.
