Eating in Nahant
I was hoping someone could recommend places to eat in or super close to Nahant. We are looking for a good place (nothing fancy - a relaxed, casual setting is preferred, but not a subshop!) to eat before heading to an evening event in Nahant. Also, if you have breakfast place recommendations, that would be great too. Thanks in advance!

The Porthole! A great atmosphere, on the water, great prices, ample portions.... Don't forget to order the fried pickle appetizer, yum. There is also The Tides which is located in Nahant at the end of the causeway. Fried seafood is average, lots of locals. I prefer the Porthole over the Tides due to the Portholes extensive menu, something for everyone. If you want to spend more money, I would also recommend Red Rock Bistro in Swampscott. Regardless of what has been said on this board about Red Rock, I have always had a great meal and great service. If you want to feel as if you are eating in a nursing home, I recommend The Hawthorne next door to Red Rock. Everyone is over seventy and nothing has changed since the seventies from the menu to the decor.

I'm a big fan of the Antique table on the Lynn Swampscott line, charming little place and the food is excellent.

I think you'll be hard pressed to fine something in Nahant. Why not the recently reviewed Blue Ox in Lynn: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/614050. http://www.theblueoxlynn.com/
