<content>Just read this and thought it might be of interest. The world of govt. acronyms [FDA, USDA, TTB, and AMS (American Marketing Service)] have agreed on labeling requirements to help clear up the organic nature of wine. Essentially it looks like they will now require a 'percentage of organic material' statement as well as a 'statement of specific organic ingredients'.

But even if the wine is made of 100% organic ingredients it cannot say so on the label unless no sulfites are added. Apparently there is agreement that only wine organically vinified from organic grapes can be called "100% Organic Wine". There is mention of a government "certification" for this truly organic wine but I was unable to find details about that program. One might assume it is an extension of the process for certification of the organic farming process.
