Casual restaurants on Queen East/Beaches

  • 7

I wasn't quite sure how to title this. I have to travel out to the beaches (far - like, Neville park and Queen) from Spadina and Queen once a week (by bike) and am generally hungry for dinner on the way there or back. Does anyone have any recommendations for places to eat along Queen or closeby that would be suitable for someone dining alone (ie. probably not a fancy, sit-down place)? I'm a vegetarian but I'm not super picky....as long as I have a couple of good options I'm good. I've been eating at Ginger lately, but sometimes am in the mood for something else...but don't want to walk into a place where I'm going to feel weird eating alone.

Thanks in advance!

  1. Vivetha (patio) and Bibiche -- I think you'd be comfortable at either place and they offer some vegetarian choices.

    1. Lick's makes a great veggie burger. Also, you might want to try The Pie Shack for quiche & sandwiches (and dessert) and Café Florentin for some really nice light meals (pasta, salad, panini, and shakshukah!).

      1. Fitzgerald's has a couple of veggie options. Pub downstairs, funky lounge upstairs. Food is served on both floors. Nice, friendly place with even friendlier prices.
They won't mind if you don't have a pint with your meal.

        1. Hanoi 3 Seasons (Queen & Leslie) fits the bill.

            1. Dufflet near Queen and Woodbine has a very limited selection of food - a slice of vegetarian pizza or soups/sandwiches would go well with their sweets.

              1. Soup Noodles Pub is nice for a quick, cheap Korean meal, and the staff (a guy and his wife) are really friendly. It's right near Ed's
