Suggestions for Martha's Vineyard? (this weekend...)

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to this board but I've heard great things about it! So, I thought I'd come to you for advice... My DF is taking me to Martha's Vineyard this weekend to celebrate my birthday. I'm sooooo excited! (haven't been there since I was a little girl).

Would love any recommendations - we eat everything - and will be staying 1 night in Edgartown (although we are more than willing to travel by bus around the island...)

I'm especially interested in: ice cream, coffee/cafe, seafood (scallops!), breakfast and nice dinner places.

  1. I love Le Grenier Restaurant in Vineyard Haven right on the main strip. It is fabulous French cuisine. I have been there for dinner a few times now. I've had their Lobster Normande - lobster, apples, Calvados, shallots and cream and Duck a l'Orange. The town is dry so you have to bring your own wine. As I recall, people write their names and special occaisons on corks and the put them on the wall. Kinda cool.

    1. Edgartown for one night...Based on what you have said, Among the Flowers, Espresso Love, Atria, Alchemy.......Best breakfast on the island is in Vineyard Haven at the Art Cliff Diner but Among the Flowers in Edgartown is close to perfection. Stroll down N. Water Street and grab a drink at the Harborview where you can sit on the porch. If you do a quick search on this board, you'll see more details from all of us Vineyarders.
