Upscale Indian -- Need Recs!

Looking for a very high-end Indian food restaurant. Been to Devi, Tamarind, Tabla, etc. Something with a tasting menu would be great. For husband's birthday.

Perhaps, Dawat? We've never been, but acc. to their menu, Madhur Jaffrey is their "driving force," and they offer several tasting menu options.

I like Dawat, but I wouldn't call it very high end, in the sense that it's a bit dated. I think, as compared to Devi and Tamarind, it might be a bit of a disappointment.

I think it wil be difficult to find another "upscale" restaurant like Devi, Tamarind, and Tabla. The only other one I can think of is Amma. We haven't been there since Suvir and Memant left and later opened Devi. However, Amma's owners have kept many of the original dishes that Suvir created, and there is a tasting menu.
