Good restaurantes in Rahway/Carteret/Port Reading Area??

Hey kids,

Looking to find a nice restaurante to take a date in the Rahway/Carteret/Port Reading Area? Doesnt matter much to me if its Italian or French etc etc, just would like some help!

Mulberry St.-Rahway Ave-Woodbridge, neighborhood Italian with the usual veal, beef and pasta, prepared many ways...Lasagne special deep and tight ,large serving. Full bar, servers are a plus...Ample parking...Enjoy

live in woodbridge, and found these to be the best restaurants in area; consistent with good to very good food, ditto on service, sometimes pricey, all great for dates. personally ddrakes menu is too eclectic for me. the following are rather "traditional".

1) Il Castello, Main St Woodbridge (also has outside seating weather permitting)
2) Trattoria Venezia, Main St Woodbridge
3) Little Spain, New Bruns Ave, Fords
4) Luciano's, Rahway
5) Amici III, Linden

I know it's a chain, and there are so many other choices, but while we're listing Woodbridge restaurants, the Bonefish Grill in Woodbridge really isn't bad.

You are asking the impossible, but as others have mentioned....David Drake all the way!!

(Forget about Carteret and Port Reading, unless you want to take your date to Burger Express....hee hee!!!) Burger Express is probably 4 star dining compared to absolutely nothing else in that area.

WOW! I have not been to El Bodegon in about 15 years!! I went on a date there, can't remember anything about the food, just remember my hottie date...hee hee.

Interesting to see if the place has good food.

The reason I posted was that someone on Tri State said this is better than Ria Mar in South River?!? Everyone local LOVES Ria Mar, my curiosity set in, hence the post. Guess it has to go on the list.

Ditto, David Drake. Romantic, wonderful cuisine.

A little lower end, Flynn's Tavern for Irish, around the corner or for an after dinner drink.

David Drake in Rahway is one of my favorite places to dine when money is not really an issue. The three course prix fixe menu for around $50 is very reasonable. They also have tasting menus as well
