  1. David Drake in Rahway is one of my favorite places to dine when money is not really an issue. The three course prix fixe menu for around $50 is very reasonable. They also have tasting menus as well

    1. Ditto, David Drake. Romantic, wonderful cuisine.

A little lower end, Flynn's Tavern for Irish, around the corner or for an after dinner drink.

      1. Has anyone on the Midatlantic Board tried El Bodegon in Rahway NJ recently?

WOW! I have not been to El Bodegon in about 15 years!! I went on a date there, can't remember anything about the food, just remember my hottie date...hee hee.

Interesting to see if the place has good food.

            Youre funny. :)
The reason I posted was that someone on Tri State said this is better than Ria Mar in South River?!? Everyone local LOVES Ria Mar, my curiosity set in, hence the post. Guess it has to go on the list.

Patria Lounge & Restaurant has opened in the former El Bodegon location, offering Latin cuisine (732-943-7531).

            Patria Lounge & Restaurant
            169 W Main St, Rahway, NJ 07065

          3. You are asking the impossible, but as others have mentioned....David Drake all the way!!

(Forget about Carteret and Port Reading, unless you want to take your date to Burger Express....hee hee!!!) Burger Express is probably 4 star dining compared to absolutely nothing else in that area.

David Drake is fabulous! Have a great time!!

            1. live in woodbridge, and found these to be the best restaurants in area; consistent with good to very good food, ditto on service, sometimes pricey, all great for dates. personally ddrakes menu is too eclectic for me. the following are rather "traditional".

              1) Il Castello, Main St Woodbridge (also has outside seating weather permitting)
              2) Trattoria Venezia, Main St Woodbridge
              3) Little Spain, New Bruns Ave, Fords
              4) Luciano's, Rahway
              5) Amici III, Linden

I know it's a chain, and there are so many other choices, but while we're listing Woodbridge restaurants, the Bonefish Grill in Woodbridge really isn't bad.

                  Brave you are.

joking aside - Did enjoy my Edamame and Corn Succotash at Bonefish
