NYC lunch tomorrow with 2 boys

ldjsue Jun 24, 2009 01:29 PM

Looking for something really delicious, not too funky or way out but memorable to take my 11 and 13 year old sons for lunch tomorrow. Prefer UES, as I have a spot to park my car there, but willing to travel. Would like to spend no more than $30/person.
Many thanks!

    What about Flex Mussels?

Cafe Boulud, on 76th St., b/t 5th & Madison, is 4-star chef Daniel Boulud's second-tier restaurant, but the food is first-rate. They are offering a 3-course lunch prix fixe for $24 -- a steal for cuisine of such superb caliber. Service is cordial and polished. They are family-friendly. Casual attire is totally acceptable.

Cafe d'Alsace, on the corner of 2nd Av. & 88th St., is a French brasserie. Obviously, much more casual than Cafe Boulud and a different style of cuisine, but excellent.

      Enjoy and Bon Appetit!
