mods locking but not saying why or directing to new board

this is the second time i've noted a thread being locked with no explanation or direction to its transfer to another board. http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/630729#

isn't that courtesy a simple one?

    1. We do try to leave a note but occasionally this gets overlooked. In this case, it was clear that the original poster had seen that she should post on the Home Cooking board, which she then did, though we understand that that didn't alert you in this case.

We'll add a note to the thread you link to. If you link to the other thread to which you refer, we'll take a look at it.

      Thanks.

i didn't expect her to "alert me"....

            1. re: alkapal

We did not mean that the OP should have alerted you. Rather, we were acknowledging that, while it appeared to us that the OP understood about starting a thread on the Home Cooking board, and then did so, there was no way for you to know this since, as you pointed out, no note was left.

            2. Seems to me the question was asked and answered, and the transfer to another board quite explicit in the responses. I don't see why anyone would think it necessary to contribute further to that particular thread. I also think the mods have their hands sufficiently full with spammers that we can give them some slack if they they choose not to explain the obvious.

                1. re: JoanN

joan, the thread has been sliced and diced from what it looked like just before i made this post above, so your observation of what it looks like *now* (and what *now* thus seems "explicit") is not apt.

                    1. re: alkapal

Yes, we removed some of the posts on that thread since, once it was on Home Cooking, they were no longer needed. This was done after JoanN posted, by the way.

                    2. hey, you guys are doing great! i definitely appreciate all your efforts, and i do love chowhound.
