Any thoughts on the restaurant in the Washington Plaza, No. Ten Thomas? Will be staying there Sat. - Thurs. and would like to know if it's worth the price? If no, any recs in the area?

I've honestly never eaten there or heard of it. Unless it's new I imagine it is just a regular hotel restaurant. I'm quite familiar with The Washington Plaza since my organization holds their legislative conference there each year. But I think it's just a regular, over-priced hotel restaurant.

Are you willing to go elsewhere for meals?

Very disappointed in the restaurant, both the food and service. Please advise everyone to avoid it at all costs. I was looking forward to your recs, Elyssa. Sorry you didn't reply.

To be expected if there's not much discussion about this hotel restaurant on this board. I would never go to a hotel restaurant unless i've heard it's good. Elyssa posts often on this board. If she forgot to respond to your post, you could have sought out her suggestions in past posts.

Sorry about that. I must have missed your post. It's really a shame because if you had walked a couple of blocks away from the hotel you could have found some good eats.

As Jacey mentioned, a little research probably could have helped since there is a Thai restaurant nearby that is suppose to be good and Cork, St. Ex, and Bar Pilar are only a few blocks away or a short cab ride.

Better luck next time. (Also, you can always ask the front desk or the concierge for restaurants nearby).

Oh, I did find some, just not with much help from chounders. We walked to Georgia Brown's and Bobby Vann's Steakhouse and had great meals at both, as well as Old Ebbit's Grill, which was recommended on the boards.
I posted an inquiry about Vegetate, which no one answered either.
As far as the hotel, some times you just don't want to walk anymore, so I posted to let everyone know it is BAD hotel food and service, not just regular lackluster variety.
