Riddick's Kitchen Hempstead--closed???

Please tell me this isn't so--it's one of my favorites. Haven't been by in a while.

Was debating it today while talking with a friend of mine, and he told me he thought they'd closed. Can someone please tell me this isn't true? :)

      Thank God it's not closed.

I'll have to go there tomorrow :).

Whats good there? It looks kinda rundown from the outside.

A great stop on the way back from the beach for fried chicken and mac and cheese. Run down indeed, just the way I like my soul food joints

Didn't seem that run down to me--the dining room seemed neat and in good order, and everything seemed clean. The fried chicken is probably the best I've ever had anywhere, and their prices can't be beat--think the all-you-can-eat dinner was $13 last I was there, and the all-you-can-eat lunch (only the chicken and turkey meat items, but still good) was $8--you can't beat the price anywhere, and the quality is fantastic..

    2. I went today at 12:30 for lunch and they were closed. The inside looked very much in disarray - a table was turned over, big garbage bags were stacked in front, the soda fridge was empty and positioned in the middle of the room. There was a big sign that said art sale in the window and cheap looking paintings were leaning against the window and walls in the dinning room.
