Like most people right now, I'm on a tight budget and I've got the run-of-the-mill "cheap" stuff in my cubbard. Stove top mac n'cheese, canned tuna, peanut butter, jelly, sliced bread, etc. How do you doctor your favorites for variety? Thanks in advance!

I'm fond of the blue box dinner myself, even tho i rarely make it. but when i do, i always add green or red diced peppers, sautéed mushrooms and ground beef or sautéed chicken breast.

And sriracha, of course.

Canned tuna works well in tomato-based pasta sauces. Add some capers (if that's not too expensive, otherwise some olives), garlic and onions. tastes even better when room temperature, and the flavors had a chance to mingle.

Peanut butter makes another great pasta sauce together with green tea (1 cup), some soy sauce, ginger, scallions, garlic, rice vinegar, and sriracha. Pasta dishes are generally a pretty cheap way to go, tasty & filling.
