Mercato del Mare
I recently started working in the north end again after a year hiatus. i have not been to Mercato del Mare since then. I have been several times in the last week and have been very pleased with the quality and freshness. I have bought salmon, scallops and tuna. The tuna i had tonight was especially good. wonderful texture. If you have not tried this place in a while, I would give it a try!

I have gone there a number of times even though it is little out of the way from the area where I live (even the North End has mini neighborhoods!). The fish has always been fresh and the two women who run the place have always been helpful and friendly. I once stopped by to buy a very small order and after i paid and was walking out, I remembered that I needed a lemon. I went back to buy one and they just gave it to me and didn't charge. Of course not a big deal but a nice gesture and smart marketing too.

I've been shoppping here since they opened. Their scallops are particularly good. I mentioned them the other day when someone was looking for razor clams.

9 lives, they have a good e newsletter, that tells you what they have each day, i like it.

I second this, I stop by there sometimes on my lunch break to grab a piece of fish for dinner and have been very pleased with the quality of the product and the service. I got cod one night for fish and chips (it was delicous), and then some sole another night that fit the bill for some fish tacos.
