Good eating in Golden

sarah galvin Jun 22, 2009 04:07 PM

I will be driving to Golden, BC this week and wondering if anyone has a suggestion for a nice dinner. I like most foods.

In Golden, we stop in town at the White Wolf. Great little bistro.

If you stop earlier, in Field, there is a place called Truffle Pig Bistro. Also superb.

Thank you. I'm actually going from west to east so will perhaps stop there the next morning. Are they open for breakfast? I should have said 'driving through Golden'.

And I am sorry, I couldnt find much info on the other one... so here is a trip advisor link:

I did have breakfast at Truffle Pigs. OMG! It was fabulous. All organic and included a lovely pork chop, homemade baked beans, 2 eggs, bagel and coffee for $13. View of the river. Next time I will also stay at their inn.

do they have a patio? i'm heading to the okanagan in August and was planning a lunch stop at truffle pigs, but i'll have my dog with me so, i'm hoping for a patio to tie him to while i have a lovely lunch - it will be too hot to leave him in the car, which means A&W in golden on the way through......

Yes, they have a lovely patio with a view toward the river and mountains ( um, I guess the mountains are all around! Isn't it wonderful.)

If you're in Golden for the evening and don't mind a bit of a drive, the Eagle's Eye at the top of the gondola at Kicking Horse is nice and has a great view if the weather cooperates. Looks like they have a dinner and concert event on the 27th too.

Decided to forego the drive up the mountain considering I would have a glass of wine! Thanks.

I've heard good things about Eleven 22, but have never been there myself:
