Montauk Restaurants Recomendations..

My husband and I will be going to Montauk next month (July) to spend some time with his parents and we are looking to take them out to dinner at a very nice restaurant as a surprise. Open to all food...all recommendations appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I've eaten at Dave's Grill and Acqua East and liked both places.Of the two I prefer Dave's but I believe you have to make same day reservations,which is a pain.But the food is very good,primarily seafood with some pasta and possibly beef.It's in a good location near Gosman's Dock.Acqua East serves Italian food in a nice setting.Although I have never been,Harvest is always mentioned as a classy Montauk restaurant.

For future reference, just had a late lunch at West Lake Clam and Chowder, forgot what a great place it is. Freshest seafood and authentic sushi too. Kitchen and waitstaff right on the ball. One of the busiest places in town, in a good way.

I suggest the Harvest. Great family style Italian food. Make your reservations well in advance.

I was not happy with the FishBar. The Cod was overcooked, the Scallops were perfect but the risotto they sat on was bland. The Calamari were good. The veggie fettucine was awful.The It took forever to come out so I thought the chef was taking her time doing a custom job on our dishes. It was a weekday for God's sake!

The service was typical..college kids with summer experience. Translation.. amateur.
There are better. Go for a drink, great sunsets. Non ti vicinare!!
